With Christmas coming up, we have been collecting gifts one by one. I am trying to avoid one big Christmas haul, for the sake of our bank account. Each pay check we purchase one or two Christmas gifts for our daughter. These are the best gift ideas for toddlers that I have found! SO excited to share them with you.

(On top of that, her birthday is in November so I have amassed quite the list. This age is kind of odd because she’s not really using baby toys anymore, but also not quite ready for more detailed toys.)
Here we go!
My daughter has been absolutely obsessed with these lately so I want to get her one with the alphabet letters just to get a jumpstart on recognizing letters.
- kids camera (it takes real pictures!)
this will always be a winner in my book. She loves using my fuji/polaroid but I am always so worried she will break it! So, getting her her own is so exciting to me. Photography is such a fun hobby! She also loves my digital camera that used to belong to my mom, so I know this is a good choice.

- leap frog phone (I am actually a fan of all things leap frog. Make learning fun!)
We are still avoiding screens for her and I actually do not want her to have a phone at all until she absolutely requires one, so I like the idea of giving her something to fill that space.
This is also along the lines of not using screens but using the idea. Instead of watching a movie, she can watch her book on the wall!
My husband recently put together a bed set for me and my daughter was absolutely entranced with the drill. My husband was worried the whole time that she was going to hurt herself so I proposed the brilliant idea of getting her something did friendly– and maybe the get to do a project together.
A puppet for story time is so classic I actually can’t believe I don’t already have one. I am honestly so excited to add this little guy to our story time routine!
Final thoughts
The thing about gifts to me is that you should know where they will go and if they will be used. I do not like clutter in my house. I do not want extra stuff that has no home. My daughter’s toys are ALL in the living room, so before I commit to buying something, I absolutely need to know that it has a place to go. Each of these is so small or cozy that it can go right in a toy bin or tucked away with her stuffies.
Although…. You can expect a blog soon on minimalism and decluttering toddler toys!
If you are looking for toddlerhood necessities, I wrote about that here.
