The Best Freezer Meals To Make Before Baby Arrives

When I had just given birth to my daughter, my neighbor brought over frozen lasagna. I don’t think I will ever ever forget this because it was so so kind. In the newborn phase my husband did almost all of the coking which was incredible, but he was tired too, and having a frozen lasagna to just pop in the oven was a life saver. And it told me that with my next pregnancy, I will be prepping frozen meals my entire third trimester. Without further ado, these are the best freezer meals to make before baby comes!!

Obviously lasagna.

I use a different lasagna recipe every time I make it so if you have a favorite send it my way!

Chicken Pot Pie.

I used this recipe and was very satisfied. Just assemble and freeze, then bake when you are ready.

Breakfast Burritos.

I know cereal hits so hard when pregnant but eventually I needed something new for breakfast and I ended up really liking these but there are a bunch of different recipes to try and experiment with. I add way more cheese than it suggests.

Baked Ziti.

I’m a big pasta lover especially during that newborn phase and breastfeeding. Those carbs really helped satisfy my huge appetite.

Broccoli Cheddar Soup.

I find soups freeze really well.

Tomato Soup.

Get some sourdough bread and parmesan cheese and have the best grilled cheese of your life dipped into some homemade tomato soup. Ugh I love this.

Chicken Pesto Pasta.

Drooling just thinking about this.

Chili.

I haven’t made chili in a few months honestly but now that it’s getting cooler (as cool as Hawaii gets anyway) I’m going to have to whip this bad boy out for dinner.

I’ll also add that muffins are a phenomenal snack and I’ve frozen half of almost every recipe I’ve baked and they’ve always turned out great. Brownies too, if you undercook them and have a sweet tooth.

The thing that’s great about freezer meals is you can just double the recipe of whatever you are making for dinner and freeze the other half. It doesn’t have to be a whole day’s work, it can literally just be your same exact schedule, just with left overs.

Along with freezer meals, there are a few other things I wish I knew before becoming a mother. Check them out here.
